Info Post

When Paris Hilton’s Carl’s Jnr commercial premiered back in 2005 (has it really been that long?), it was tough to tell what she was actually selling. Hilton was dressed in a skimpy swimsuit, soaping up a car, spraying a hose, and for one brief moment she took a bite out of a spicy BBQ burger. The same vagueness applies to Lotte Liquor’s new commercial for their Chum Churum soju drink, which is basically the K-pop equivalent of a racy Carl’s Jnr ad.

In the commercial, girl group hotties, HyunA, KARA’s Hara, and SISTAR’s Hyorin, battle each other in a saucy dance-off in a crowded nightclub. Of course, the ladies had obviously been guzzling Lotte Liquor all night, because their slick K-pop choreography was replaced with sexy drunk girl gyrating, fierce weave whipping, and spread-eagle squatting (the latter mostly from HyunA). Eventually they all get their hands on a bottle of the Chum Churum booze that they’re supposed to be promoting, and proceed to shake them vigorously alongside their vibrating booties. The commercial finally ends with all three ladies laughing happily over a few shots, which is the point that you know that this is a Korean commercial and not an American one — if it was American advertising, the shaken bottles would’ve exploded frothy white foam all over the female stars until it was soaking through their shirts and running down their chins.

And on that note, does anybody know where we can pick up a bottle of this stuff? HyunA, Hara, and Hyorin have suddenly left us feeling very thirsty …
