While most of us spent Christmas stuffing ourselves full of ham and eggnog and listening to Mariah Carey’s holiday tunes on repeat, Brown Eyed Girls were busy holding their adults only concert, Tonight 37.2°C. The concert, which is titled after the average temperature that the human body reaches while making love, was held for two nights over Christmas eve and Christmas day, and was restricted to people under the age of 19.
During the show, the sexy K-poppers performed all their hits, both solo and group ones, threw in some covers (like Rihanna’s “S&M” and Orange Caramel’s “Lipstick”), and revamped a few of their older songs with some bangin’ remixes. One of the songs to receive a makeover was their 2008 single, “L.O.V.E,” which was the group’s first real hit and kicked off their rise to the top of the K-pop food chain. The new version of the song contains almost zero resemblance to the bubbly original, with the sweet, uplifting production replaced with quaking techno and gritty electro beats. Some changes have also been made to the choreography, which now features a racy bump ‘n’ grind moment between the ladies of BEG and their backup dancers.
If you were looking for an alternative to Christmas with the family this year, then this was probably it.
