Info Post

Remember the guy who was caught lurking outside of Taylor Swift’s Nashville home with a knife on her birthday a couple weeks ago? Well, turns out it’s all good between Taylor and 24-year-old Jacob Kulke. Prosecutors declined to press charges against Kulke for his personal intrusion, though the maybe-stalker is still being held in a Nashville jail as fights extradition to Colorado for a hearing regarding his probation violation.

Why the no-charge? Well, according to Kulke’s defense, the poor guy really thought he was going to Nashville to wish his girlfriend, pop and country superstar Taylor Swift, a happy birthday. “It is the defense’s position that he was misled by someone else,” Kulke’s attorney Sean McKinney said. “Mr. Kulke had reasonable belief that he was invited on to the premises.” Typical—you get a tweet from @TaylorSwift14, you forget to double-check the authenticity, and before you know it you’re flying from Wisconsin to Nashville to meet your celebrity love that doesn’t even know you exist. Perhaps Jacob Kulke just wasn’t made for these social media times.

Then again, none of that explains the knife. Forgot to get her a birthday present? Whatever. It’s Christmas, right? Everybody makes mistakes every now and then, no point in dwelling on them. Maybe Kulke will even get a song about him on the Redder Than Red reissue.
