Trey Songz was ballin’ so hard at a summer album-release party, motherfuckers had to arrest him. TMZ reports that late night on August 21st, Songz was celebrating the release of his Chapter V album at Club Perfection in Queens when he “became involved in an altercation inside the club,” described by a police officer with the following (semi-hilarious) recounting:
Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant’s left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye.
“United States currency”? You weren’t throwing nickels at the poor girl, were you, Trey? Was it just a bill that caused an ocular papercut? A band of bills hurled with a little too much zeal?
Anyway, Songz was not arrested that night, but a month later, and is now due back in court in February to continue to answer for the charges. There’s probably a lesson of some sort to be learned here, but it’s unlikely to be heeded by many as long as “Pop That” and “Bandz a Make Her Dance” remain the two most unavoidable songs on hip-hop radio. Maybe Cassidy needs to record another socially conscious PSA to the tune of one of those songs to increase dancer-money-injury awareness.
