Info Post

Rita Ora’s debut, Ora, is due out later this month. So why not learn a little bit about it? Here’s an interview That Grape Juice did with the artist.

- Rita Ora’s album is called Ora because it’s her last name, but also because it means “time” in Albanian, and the album took quite a bit of time to finish (one early version was scrapped.) If only we could all have last names adaptable to second meanings.

- As far as specific tracks: One track is called “Been Lying” and is about having been lying. Another, a ballad, is called “Fair”–it won’t make the U.K. version enough, but Ora said it was one of her favorites: “I might leak it, just to put it out.”

The next single, incidentally, is something she’s performed in her set. So if you’re curious, there are countless set lists to go through.

- Ora didn’t speak much on the endless comparisons to X, Y and Z, but she did make this vague general statement on her early career. We mention it because there’s a 60% chance Jay-Z had something to do with the specific wording:

“As a new artist, how you rise, and how you come up, is really crucial. You can be creating your blueprint, your structure.”

- Her laugh at 8:19 might make you a fan all by itself.
