Info Post

It’s not too often that you catch a K-pop star actively promoting more than one song from an album. They’ll usually just plug one main single for a while, and then re-release the whole album with a brand new song, title, and concept. But it looks like rookie superstar, Ailee, is trying to get the most out of her Invitation EP, because she’s just started promoting a random ballad from the disc called “Evening Sky.” The follow-up single comes less than two months after her disco diva anthem, “I’ll Show You,” smashed the K-pop charts and won the 23-year-old songstress her first music program trophy.

Ailee performed “Evening Sky” for the first time on last night’s episode of Music Bank, and as expected, she had a whole new look to go with it. Her glam getup from “I’ll Show You” has now been replaced with a chic, white hippie ensemble, and her eyes are now sporting creepy blue contact lenses. Not quite her best look, but it’s all about the voice, right? Vocally, the started on the soft side, but eventually built up to some big ballady wailing by the time the song was wrapping up. Funnily enough, she still opted to use a backing track on some of the bigger notes, but it wasn’t needed — Ailee could still be heard loud and clear, without a flaw to be found.
