Info Post

It’s not surprising at all that Sesame Street‘s been doing a lot of viral-video pop culture spoofs, up to and including the big one, “Call Me Maybe.” That’s been Sesame Street‘s thing since the beginning. (If you ever want to spend an awesome hour or so, go look up the show’s ’70s episodes on YouTube.)

The show’s parody of The Voice, then, has everything you could possibly want: pratfalls, tap dances, synchronized swivel chairs and the chance to see Muppet renderings of Christina Aguilera and her hair, Blake Shelton and his beard, Cee-Lo and his cat and Carson Daly and his smarm. The only thing missing? Adam Levine. Doesn’t he strike you as the sort of guy who’d love a Muppetized version of himself? Notice, though: there are four chairs, one prominently empty. There’s no way it won’t get filled by episode’s end, right? He’ll probably show up after some bowdlerized-yet-weirdly-off-color antics offscreen. In fact, he’ll probably show up right after this clip cuts out, considering the last few seconds are one big buildup to a Levine wisecrack.

Meet (three of) your coaches, then watch the clip below.
