September 6th marks the fourth year that Vogue, the CFDA (aka the Council of Fashion Designers of America) and the rest of the fashion powers that be will celebrate Fashion’s Night Out. Originally conceived in New York City in 2009 as a way to bring attention and money to stores hurt by the recession, the event has now gone global and morphed into one big party.
Vogue usually taps a few celebrities to put the word out and among the chosen this year are none other than teen pop sensations Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber.
Both appear in this FNO PSA, where they sport the official FNO tee and talk up the event. “Meet designers, and models—who doesn’t want to meet models, right?” is Bieber’s pitch, while Taylor urges viewers to “shop for something good.”
Both also promise to attend the festivities, though we’re still awaiting official confirmation on what/any events the Biebs and Swifty will be stopping by. In extremely unfortunate timing, Fashion’s Night Out is the same evening as the live airing of MTV’s Video Music Awards in Downtown LA, during which Swift will be singing her latest revenge single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
If she’s not too tired after that, maybe we’ll see her at a few FNO after-parties. Bieber, for his part, is nominated for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video for “Boyfriend” but isn’t a confirmed guest, presenter or performer.
Shoppers can pick up the official FNO tee online and at participating retailers (the full list is right here). Bieber’s snazzy FNO belt, however, will not be for sale.
