Info Post

Pink and Eminem have a lot in common, really. Both are intensely personal and socially defiant as artists, both make music videos parodying other famous people, both have experimented with hair dye at various points in their careers. The kinship between the two was cemented recently with “Won’t Back Down,” a collaboration on Eminem’s Recovery, and will again with a now-confirmed collab between the two on Pink’s upcoming album The Truth About Love, reportedly titled “Here Comes the Weekend.” Pink tells the Herald Sun of when the two first committed to one another:

He said ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ F— yeah! I said ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ and he said ‘F— yeah!” Handshake. Nothing signed. Done.

Ah, if only all of life were that simple. Imagine if at the outset of the The Notebook, Rachel McAdams was like “Do you wanna marry me and avoid all that annoying shit with my parents and the war and that stuff?” and Ryan Gosling was like “Fuck yeah!,” then Gosling was like “Do you wanna marry me and not get Alzheimer’s so I don’t have to waste every Saturday night reading you the same goddamn story over and over again?” and McAdams was like “Fuck yeah!” Life could be so much less dramatic.

Oh, Pink describes “Here Comes the Weekend” with Eminem as an “alternative club banger.” A quick Google search reveals that pretty much the only other song ever described as an “alternative club banger” is B.o.B. and Lil Wayne’s “Strange Clouds.” So, uh, if you like that, hopefully you’ll like this one too.
