Info Post

Hey guys, no need to waste time breaking out the blotters and the vinyl copies of Still Crazy After All These Years anymore—M.I.A. has us covered. The British underground pop star was answering questions about her upcoming album today on Twitter, due out in December, answering about how long the album would be, what collaborations would be on it, whether she got a parrot to rap on the album (?), etc. Understandably, one commenter asked about what the album would sound like, and M.I.A. had an interesting answer:

Well. Couple things:

1. No it doesn’t, come on.

2. What era Paul Simon? “Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard” on acid probably sounds way different than “Late in the Evening” on acid, sounds way different than “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” on acid, etc.

3. Is she saying that it sounds like Paul Simon’s music if he was performing on acid, or it sounds like Paul Simon’s music if you were listening to it on acid?

We’re not sure where “Bad Girls” fits into any of this, regardless.
