Because of the glut of websites and industries that have cropped up around the Academy Awards, it's natural to feel pretty cynical about Oscar season. It's a popularity contest. It's all about money. They don't reward the right films. It goes on forever. All of that is true, and yet I still find myself a touch giddy each and every September when Oscar talk starts heating up.
